Illustrated Editorial Cover - The Walrus

For this project, we were assigned to create an editorial cover for The Walrus based on a real Canadian news article. With the choosen article, I created an illustration that would work both as an article and as an art print.

This illustration is based on the article about a student pilot who captured a video of a plane being struck by lightning on takeoff. Capturing that moment in this illustration and conveying how some things that sound unreal can be captured on video. That plane continued on to its destination and landed safely.
